the subject of the extension of Hongkong I am directed

by Mr. Balfour to transmit to you to be laid before

Mr. Secretary Chamberlain copy of a despatch from

Her Majesty's Minister at Peking on the assistance

required from the Hongkong Government by the Chi-

nese Customs Authorities.
